Salve ragazzi, possiedo pc3x..
Apro citando una risposta che Dave Weiser, sound designer Kurzweil, ha dato circa la differenza tra k2600 e pc3x in fatto di sintesi
<<The PC3 is many times more powerful than the K as a synth.
The PC3's VAST is actually a bit larger than the K's.
On a PC3, you can have two 2pole filters in series within one alg, each with mods and depth for freq and resonance.
Not so on the K.
On the K you could have a 2 pole go into another 2 pole, but the second filter only had a control for Frequency, not resonance.
The K had triple mode - the PC3 can do the same thing, but with up to 32 layers, not 3.
The K had DSP generated waves (saw, square, PWM) but the aliasing is really bad.
The PC3 uses the anti-aliasing oscillators from our VA1.
Try to make a minimoog type lead on the K and on the PC3, and you'll hear the difference.
The PC3 has some filters and DSP which are not in the K - moog style 4pole resonant filter with feedback, 3pole allpass, Quantizer, etc.
The PC3 lets you edit and save your own alg wirings - the K does not.
The PC3 has 3 times the polyphony of the K, allowing for more layering.
As a workstation, the K still has some features like Live mode, sampling and sample editing, which the PC3 does not have.
But for pure synthesis power, the PC3 is a good measure beyond the K.
