Berhinger UMX 61 (Controller poco adatto al LIVE)

È un controller che non è adatto ai live, perchè, la procedura di program change è assai lenta. (non è spiegata in questo tutorial)
Inoltre supporta soltanto CC MIDI STANDARD, per cui i pulsanti assegnabili non possono essere programmati per cambiare le patch al volo. È adatto più per l'uso in studio, se proprio si deve usare live, si devono sfruttare le pause tra una canzone e l'altra per cambiare i suoni, anche la procedura di transpose è lenta. La possibilità di un cambio immediato di ottava è possibile, usando i tasti OCTAVE SHIFT, ma quando è attivata la modalità transpose, la funzione OCTAVE SHIFT non è disponibile e per ripristinarla c'è bisogno di una procedura lenta. Tuttavia i tasti per l' OCTAVE SHIFT hanno alcune funzioni speciali che spiegherò di seguito:

Ottenere soltanto 2 suoni da richiamare al volo: (funzione PROG DIR)

premere e tenere premuto il pulsante ASSIGN
premere uno dei due pulsanti OCTAVE SHIFT
rilasciare il pulsante ASSIGN
premere sulla tastiera uno dei 16 tasti canale (ch1 – ch16)
premere il tasto PROG DIR
inserire il numero di programma desiderato mediante i tasti numerici


fare la stessa procedura col restante pulsante octave shift.

NB: non è possibile selezionare suoni presenti in banchi diversi, devono essere per forza 2 suoni dello stesso banco.


In pratica le funzioni speciali del pulsante OCTAVE SHIFT oltre al cambio d'ottava in se sono:

TRANSPOSE:

premere e tenere premuto il pulsante ASSIGN
preme il tasto transpose
rilasciare il pulsante ASSIGN
premere il tasto ENTER

NB: La pressione di entrambi i tasti annullerà
qualsiasi trasposizione.



PROG DIR: guarda sopra.


PROG +/- (consultazione graduale dei programmi)

premere e tenere premuto il pulsante ASSIGN
preme il tasto PROG +/-
rilasciare il pulsante ASSIGN
premere il tasto ENTER

Berhinger UMX 61 (Is Not Performance Controller)

It is a controller that is not suitable to live, because the program changes for module equipped with a lot of banks is very slow. (not explained in this tutorial)
It also supports STANDARD MIDI CC only, then the assignable buttons can't be programmed to change the patch on the fly. It is more suitable for use in the studio, if you must use live, you should take advantage of the breaks between songs and the other to change the sounds, even transpose's procedure is slow. The possibility of an immediate change of an octave is possible using the OCTAVE SHIFT buttons, but when TRANSPOSE mode is activated, Octave function is not available, and need to restore it with a very slow process. However, the keys for the OCTAVE SHIFT have some special features which I will explain below:


Getting only 2 sounds on the fly by calling: (function PROG DIR)

press and hold the ASSIGN button
press one of two buttons OCTAVE SHIFT
Release the ASSIGN button
press 16 keys on the keyboard of a channel (CH1 - CH16)
press the PROG DIR
type the desired program number using the numeric keys

the same procedure with the remaining octave shift button.

Note: You can't select sounds present in different banks, 2 sounds must to be in the same bank.



TRANSPOSE:

press and hold the ASSIGN button
Pressing the transpose key
Release the ASSIGN button
press the ENTER key

Note: Pressing both buttons will clear any transposition.



PROG DIR: see above.


PROG + / - (consultation phase of the program)

press and hold the ASSIGN button
press the PROG + / - key
Release the ASSIGN button
press the ENTER key
